• There has been so much worry scurry from the holidays and then the New Year’s resolution execution, business planning, kids back to hectic schedules, getting your team focused for the year and the list goes on and on, right?!

Where is there time for you and your personal business?

There is only one of you and you have to care for yourself as well.  When do you unplug?  Really unplug, no cell phone or mobile device, no computer. Maybe self-care is to put on mask, light some candles, and soak in a bubbly tub, knit, or whatever feeds you!

One of the biggest things you can do is to be clear about your priorities for work, family, and life.

Ask yourself, “What are my priorities for work, family, and life?”

Now, ask yourself the questions to gain clarity for about your business priorities.  Some suggestions may be:

    • Prospecting and New Business
    • Sales
    • Bookings
    • Sponsoring
    • Promoting Leaders
    • Communication
    • Customer Care
    • Admin
    • …and any other categories you feel are a priority.

Be sure to include both personal and team business priorities.  I want to encourage you to not fall into the trap of working just a personal business or just your team business.  Think about your business like you are in a row boat and want to get to the other side of the lake.  If you use only one oar you are going to go in circles.

Can you make it to the other side of the lake?  Yes.  However, it will be a lot more work and take you a lot longer.  If you put both oars into the water and row, both personal business and team business you can make it so much faster and with greater ease.

Next ask yourself, “Does the time allotment match my list of priorities?”

If you are uncertain of where you are spending your time, you may want to look at your calendar carefully.  Where are you really spending your time?  Log it.  You may be surprised!!

When you are looking at each task, you may want to ask yourself, “Is this the best use of my time to move me forward in the direction I desire?”  What is your answer?

Be sure to honor yourself, values, and desires.  This is your business and the only life you have.
