• But What About Me?

  • In this season of celebration, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season and forget to celebrate you!

As you sip hot cocoa by a fireplace… or at least take a few moments of uninterrupted time, be sure grab your journal, or take a note in your smart phone, and take time to reflect on how awesome you were this year.

It has been said that the more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.

Seriously, take some time to celebrate you.

    Ask yourself…

    • What new relationships did I cultivate?
    • What new skills did I learn?
    • What do I feel most positive about?
    • What did I do to take care of me?
    • What new way will I live up to my awesome potential in the new year?

Keep in mind that sometimes the greatest blessings are not in what God gives us, but in what we have been asked to surrender and release.  Celebrate the things that God told you to put down and relinquish as well, this year.

Each day holds a surprise… but only if we greet it with expectation can we see it, hear it, or feel it when it comes to us.  Don’t be afraid to receive each day’s surprise, as it will open a new place in our hearts for new friends, experiences, and celebration.

As this year is drawing to a close, and we are anticipating the new one, remember to celebrate the life you had and have today, not the life you could have had.

When it feels like no one else is celebrating you, learn to celebrate yourself.  When no one else compliments you, then compliment yourself.  It is not up to other people to keep you encouraged.  It is up to you.  Encouragement is an inside job.  Celebrate you!
