• Most people fail to realize their potential because their dream remains hypothetical.  Do you know that when surveyed, even the most successful business people in the USA admitted that 95% of them had not reached their dream?

One of my favorite verses states – “ Now to Him Who by, the power of His work in us, is able to do super-abundantly, far over and above all that we ask or think, infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes or dreams.”  Ephesians 3:20

Isn’t it cool to know that God wants to do this for us?!

Last week, my family and I (and some awesome clients) went to see John Maxwell at his Live Event in Pensacola, FL.   Two of the highlights of my day were:

    1)   To hear Chris Gardner tell his story of putting his dream to the test and how he has continually displayed leadership, out loud… even in the worst of circumstances.  I had loved the movie – “The Pursuit of Happyness” – based off of his life story.  However, when I heard him tell it, saw the passion in his eyes, the tenacity he had to live out, coupled with persistency and consistency, until he was living his dream… it touched me so deeply in my soul… that I knew I had to live my dream to the fullest.  I am so blessed to do this each and every day with the executives, consultants and leaders that I serve.  Thank you for the opportunity to serve you while living my dream.

    2)   To hear John Maxwell teach – “Put your dreams to the test”.  I had taught a great group of direct selling professionals on this subject just the afternoon before.   How awesome it was to hear one of my greatest personal mentors teach on this subject, as I was preparing for the upcoming mastermind I am launching for Direct Selling Leaders.  (There are only a couple of spots left… if you are interested be sure to check it out by clicking here.)

This past year, God called me to put my dream to the test, and every day since then, I am blown away by His provision, mercy, and opportunities that are truly allowing me to live out Ephesians 3:20. They are infinitely beyond my highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes or dreams!  This is my prayer for you… that you put your dream to the test, after all, your dream has power, can inspire you, and empower you.

Isn’t it time to live it out and live it out loud?

What’s the first step to putting your dream to the test?  Here’s what I did.

    • Sit quietly… just you and God and ask, “What is my dream?”
    • Let your imagination run wild without boundaries
    • Look deep into your soul and think with “possibility thinking”.
    • Realize you are not an accident, but were deliberately planned for, specifically gifted and lovingly placed on this earth for this time with a hope and a future.  (Jeremiah 29:11)
    • Write it down and make it clear. “The Lord answered me and said, write the vision so plainly that everyone that passes by may read it easily and quickly.  For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the fulfillment; it will not deceive or disappoint.  Though it tarry, wait earnestly for it, because it will surely come; it won’t show late, but on it’s appointed day.” (Habakkuk 2:2-3)
    • Don’t get sidetracked by your inabilities, weaknesses, or shortcomings.  God unfolds our dreams as we put them to the test, start moving in a direction… stop looking at what you don’t have and begin using what you do have (Hello! – your direct selling business.)
    • Share your dream with others
    • Encompass your dream with people that will support you and become your dream team.  (I began to Mastermind with other people putting their dream to the test.)

What’s your dream?  Will you achieve it in your lifetime?  Will you just desire to do so or hope that you will?  If you had to put a number on it, would you say that you have a 1:5 chance, 1:10, 1:1,000,000?  Will your dream remain strictly a dream?  Will you put it to the test?
