• Words… they sure do have a huge impact on our lives.  Have you had someone speak words of judgment, criticism, failure, disbelief, or even cursing over you or into your life?  Words like this can have a crippling effect, create insecurity, unbelief, and wound souls (the mind, will and emotions).  Bondage comes to so many of us in this form… the seed of bondage gets planted there by the enemy, and only Jesus and God’s unconditional love can bring healing.  But that’s the good news right?!

Once someone has been wounded by a broken heart from the words of another, it takes time to overcome the wrong images that begin to develop in them.  This is why it is so important to really focus and be intentional with our words, and what we speak to and over others.  We must use our words for blessing, healing, and building up others, not for cursing, wounding, and tearing others down.  Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.- Ephesians 4:29

I have found over and over again that if I believe in someone, trying to see them with the eyes of Christ, they will try to live up to the confidence I have in them.  If I share with them the character qualities of goodness and the gifts of God I see in their lives, they begin to recognize them as well and want to use them.  It is almost as if when they saw the I believed in them, they could realize that God believed in them and loved them so much to give them these gifts, talents and abilities and they did not want to waste them.

Is this you?  Is this some you know?  Someone that has been wounded by wrong words?  How could your words bring healing into their lives?  You can change someone’s life by encouraging them to be all God created them to be.

Remember to declare (out loud):  God, help me to purpose to share Your healing love through words with others every day!
